Folks, many of you know that our club callsign comes from my dad, Bob. Ex-W1MQV, past BARS President, SK in 2006. My sister Marla and I let the Club have his W1HH callsign after he passed. 

There’s so much I miss about my dad in the years that have passed, and so much I never knew as I traveled in my own circles in the 1980s-90s of SWL DX, QRP, and boatanchor ham gear. As much as I was still IN the hobby, I had lost touch with what my dad and BARS were doing. 

To that end, I’d like to hear any stories you have about Bob and would like especially any photos you have of him in hamming experiences. Please reply direct to ka1gtt at arrl.net. This may become part of a newsletter article for June. 

I am sure a lot of you knew him throughout the years...speak up!
