[bars] Field Day - Progress Update

I'm happy to report a crew (W1LUS, KB1KTR, Jack, N1HTS, my wife, my son and
myself) showed up Saturday afternoon and participated in a test raising of
the BARS Aluminum crank up tower. Two attempts were accomplished, with and
without the A4S. All looks good. A plywood base plate was also implemented.

 

We raised the A4S up to maximum height and then swept it with an MFJ antenna
analyzer. SWR looks pretty good, 20M SWR could use a tweak, but is useable
as is. 15 and 10  meters were spot on.

 

Additional progress was made with the HF#2 setup. The TS480HX modes and
frequencies can now be controlled via the logging computer.

 

The tentative Wednesday work session is no longer required.

- Sweep the HF Band Pass Filter set with Network Analyzer - WO1N (DONE)

- Order replacement capacitors to repair 40M and 15M BPF - WO1N (DONE)

- Repair 40M and 15M BPF - WO1N

- Take picture of Tower base and share with KB1KTR/W7LSG - WO1N (DONE)

- Design/Build tower base raising plate - WO1N (DONE)

- Check out A4S - WO1N/Volunteers (DONE)
