[bars] Announcing a change in BARS Leadership

What consultant? Somebody who never looked at a map. Anyone who wants to
take you seriously may do so. When you do, what addresses are these "Soon
to be built" buildings at? Even then, consider the height of the WCAP
transmitter site and of the tower. I agree that further accounting for
elevation, may involve trigonometry but it's pretty simple stuff for those
who actually use that.

I suggest you do it too. Who was this "consulting engineer"? What is his
or her name? When you originally spoke of this, I did mention it to the
owner of WCAP who laughed at it with me. Who is this "we" you refer to?

How expensive is an internet connection compared to maintaining a microwave
link? Anyway, they have both as backups one for the other. That's a good
idea.

As for "update my email" - I am responding to the one you used to send
yours. Therefore the update needed is in your email client. Nevertheless,
I cc'd the other at your request. I do enjoy our dialogs and thought I
would share them for all to enjoy.

Re: the microwave link - Not according to our consulting engineer...that is
why we are now using a very expensive and very unreliable AOIP connection.
Although we will soon be using a different route with 3 hops to clear
current and soon to be built buildings.

Bylaws and charter override Roberts rules. This is what I call the problem
of the holy paragraph whether it is law or scripture. The entirety is what
matters. There are other parts that alter or clarify one another. Read the
entire book Gary. You didn't. Yes I did know that roles are defined in
Robert's rules. However, the rules are a set of guidelines an organization
can use or not use as it chooses to define itself.

If you still feel you have a point, see if some professional can argue your
case. Good luck with that. As far as BARS is concerned, your
interpretation does not matter. Never did but I would encourage you to read
the entire book, cover to cover. I did. I have used it too. For that
matter, read books cover to cover and contemplate their contents.

PS - in regards to a prior discussion about the judicial center blocking the
microwave link between WCAP studios and transmitter, a quick look at an
actual map showed that one to be ridiculous.

What part of Roberts Rules of Order did you read that in? Just wondering.
Can't find it. Who knows but it is the most misquoted, oft imaginary book
that people didn't read.

Bylaws take precedence by the way.

According to Robert's Rules of Order wouldn't the Vice President
automatically assume the Presidency in the event of a resignation?

Doug N1WRN, BARS President, has stepped down as BARS President for personal
reasons.

The BARS Board met recently to determine a successor until the club
elections in November. Tom Walsh K1TW, a former BARS President, agreed to
step in as the interim President through the November meeting at which time
new leadership for the club will be elected.

At the same time, Tom agreed to assist Kayla with the W1HH web site. Kayla
has done an outstanding job for many years as the W1HH admin but has been
requesting additional help. Tom and Phil, K9HI, will help Kayla maintain
the W1HH website at least through November.

K1TW's immediate attention as President will be on ensuring the continued
smooth operation of the club through the next election.
Tom will give special emphasis to the September WBZ special event, club
meetings, and the November election. In particular, Tom will be encouraging
new members with fresh ideas to run for club leadership.

The September 1 club meeting details will be posted shortly on the web and
on the club mailing list.

73,

Tom Walsh K1TW
BARS Interim President
