Following our first speaker, we have a second speaker scheduled for tonight. His complete background information is at the bottom
of this message.
Tom Frenaye, K1KI, is a candidate for New England Division Director. Tom is a former NE Division Director, and has an extensive
background in Amateur Radio and the ARRL. This is an opportunity to hear from Tom, meet him, and ask questions.

"I'm running for Director again because the ARRL has stumbled over the last several years. Turnover of CEOs has led to diminished
results
ARRL Board has not focused on key issues for members"

Tom Frenaye, K1KI
Candidate for ARRL New England Vice Director
Lives in West Suffield CT, near Springfield MA.
Licensed since 8th grade, thanks to a science teacher.
Worked as a communications specialist for a year in Antarctica.
Worked as Contest Manager at ARRL in 1977-81.
Spent 20 years in Information Technology for an insurance company.
Focused on personal computers, building large corporate databases, network technology.
Elected as mayor of my town 2009-11. Served on many town boards and commissions.
Long term ARRL Director. Also served as ARRL Vice President and ARRL Foundation President.
Started a Get On The Air Program in New England that grew into the current Field Day Get On The Air program.
Very active on the air - 700,000 QSOs in Logbook of the World
Top of the DXCC Honor Roll, top scores in ARRL and CQ contests
Started the New England QSO Party twenty years ago, now 1000+ logs and 150,000 QSOs.
Started the California QSO Party when in High School.
Maintain a large antenna farm with four towers and 20 antennas.
Past president Yankee Clipper Contest Club (two different times)
Part of the organizing team for World Radiosport Team Championship in Boston 2014
Managed field locations for 60 stations and 250 volunteers
I'm running for Director again because the ARRL has stumbled over the last several years.
Turnover of CEOs has led to diminished results
ARRL Board has not focused on key issues for members
I plan to focus on these issues:
Improving ARRL presence and influence in Washington
Preserving amateur radio frequency allocations
Modernizing the Technician license
Relief for those living in condos and homeowner associations
Improved FCC action on home electronics and solar power RFI issues
Working on programs to get existing and new hams on the air and active
Tightening up ARRL rules concerning conflicts of interest
