Hi all,

 

A tough week for the ham community. Long time BARS member, Mike Goldberg, K1LJN has passed away. Details can be found here:

Mike and his XYL Scotti were always present at BARS Field Days in the 90’s. My favorite memory is Mike’s recommendation to make Beef Stew for our 1995 class winning FD effort. Initially I was skeptical, but we pre-made about 20 gallons of this and we ate every last drop over the course of setup, operating and teardown.  It was key to our class win 😉

 

Mike was instrumental in getting me involved with the New England Division Convention, roping me into setting up the W1A station for the 1996 running. I’ve been involved with the convention ever since.

 

RIP OM, you will be missed.
