Joanne, glad you got help finally! That is what clubs are for.
Question, were you using it on 220 with a dual band 144/440 antenna? I have heard several folks on repeaters advise “it’s fine, SWR isn’t perfect but not bad!” And I consider that bad advice.
I’d recommend going with a name brand (Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu, Alinco) even if it means going down to a single (favorite) band or lower power.

Hello again,
I finally have a moment to update you all on my QYT KT-7900d mini mobile radio that works on simplex with another radio close by, but stopped reaching the repeaters.
I was able to bring it to another ham's station, put a dummy load, power, and a watt meter on it. The meter didn't read any output of power at all. Yes, we tested the meter with another radio before using it on mine. :) Therefore, we concluded that the power amp is not operating. We also concluded that since the part is surface mounted, the unit is very small, it's soldered underneath as well as on top of the board, and we'd have to take the world apart to replace the power amp, I would be better off obtaining a new mobile for my shack.
In the meantime, I've borrowed a Yaesu FT-2400 that I haven't had a chance to hook up to my power supply yet. Can't wait to discover how to program it and get on the air!
Thanks again for all of your help and support. Catch you soon on the air!
73!!!
