What brand is that radio? I don’t recognize the model #. If it is a Yaesu then I’ve found that the RT software doesn’t really like most Yaesu models. I had constant problems when I had two identical Yaesu 7800’s. Had a lot better luck with the free program “Chirp”.

Subject: [bars] Insight needed for my UHF/VHF mobile.
Hello again.
To everyone who responded to my 1st email - Thank you! It's good to know I'm not over my head without someone to help. Instead of writing individual responses, I thought I would cover some of the answers here.
1. My Radio: QYT-7900D
2. Repeaters: I can hit both BIllerica and Westford repeaters with my HT hooked to the same antenna as I'm using for the mobile, so it's not an antenna issue.
3. I checked each of the menu settings in the QYT, all 53 of them, and everything looked fine.
4. The last time the mobile worked, I just finished talking on the BARS Net on Wednesday night, and was listening to the QSO afterwards. I tried to respond to a call out to me, and nobody could hear me, even though I could hear them.
At this point, someone has generously offered to meet with me and put a dummy load on my mobile so we can use a Watt meter to test its output to determine if I toasted something on the inside. I'll let you all know if we have determined the problem (operator or hardware), and if I'm in the market for a new triband or dual band FM mobile.
Thanks again!!!
73!
Joanne
