A bit tongue in cheek, as he referenced one of my favorite RFCs (RFC1149, IP Over Carrier Pigeon, which amazingly was implemented once!), but essentially transmogrifying Intel Hex (I'm sure everyone remembers :1001A00042534... ) and mapping the 16 shortest CW characters into the Hex digits, then transferring them over CW.

Kinda fascinating, in a "Wow, too much time on your hands, eh?" way.  On The Other Tentacle, now he's a published author.  8*)
