Dave Richards AA7EE has done a wonderful job constructing his own HF receiver. You have got to see the beautiful layout of Manhattan PC boards and enclosure/front panel work. The National Co (Malden MA…my dad worked there post-WWII) micrometer dial is the icing on the cake. Homebrewing your own gear really is the epitome of hamming, to me.
