Good afternoon BARS members,
Field day went very well this year and we had a good turnout on both of
these hot days. There were 27 people who attended on Saturday and 16 on
Sunday so the two stations were operating almost continuously. The original
hours were to start at 2:00 on Saturday and end at 9:30 PM but contacts
were going well so we stayed until 10:30. Operations resumed at 9:00 AM on
Sunday until 2:00 when the stations were shut down and tear down of
equipment began.
Anyone who operated from home and wants to add their score to the total,
should label the club name as *BARS/CERT* in the Cabrillo file. This will
ensure that we are identified as the same club during the final tally.
There will be a further summary of results in this months club newsletter
compiled by Ken, NO1N. I'll be submitting the log shortly so if there are
any comments, please reply to me.
I have to say that the facilities at the Emergency Management station were
excellent. The indoor plumbing, hospitality, spacious area to operate and
the food by chef Joquin was top notch. Set up and tear down went well with
few if any problems. Thanks to all who participated and helping to make
field day a success!
