Yup, I have a rope chain saw and a “pole saw” with two telescoping fiber glass poles, with me on the end, has an 18 foot reach. The pole saw is a champion, fast, neat straight cut. The chain saw jambs, twists, very slow. Pole saws can be rented, you might look into rental options, weight and reach etc.
You might wait until cooler weather too!

I have a similar one. This appears to be a decent one. There are some with cutting chain that are less effective.
The last time I used it .. it was a branch higher up than in this video .. and I made the mistake of trying to cut three or four feet away from the trunk. The saw got stuck *and* while trying to get it unstuck .. I pulled off one of the handles.
I finally did get it unstuck .. and the branch broke at the cut a few days later.
I would replace the rope leads with stronger rope and maybe make new handles.
But, that said, it does work. Just, if at all possible, cut next to the trunk. The branch will not flex up and down while you are cutting it.
