Although I have success with digital modes I've had reports of
distorted/off-frequency audio on HF SSB contacts. I have set the mike
gain & compression per the info. in the manual. I have listened to the
TX audio monitor and it sounds fine. However, I did a recording from a
WebSDR of my audio on 40m today and it is pretty awful.
What I'd love to do is have a QSO with someone local so that I can try
dialing in the audio settings.
For reference the rig is a Kenwood TS-2000 into a homebrew 40M EFHW with
a choke at the feedpoint. It is fed with ~50ft of LMR400. The rig is
connected to a ground rod.
