Russell

The words “Fusion” and “Yaesu”, caught my eye Russell, perhaps my experience will be of use.

I used Fusion from Littleton, on Verizon fiber internet worked well, now I’m NH, with Starlink router, which does not support UDP, and waiting for UDP router ASUS to provide speed and UDP.

Requirements:

W10 or 11, IPv6, Router with UDP, 2 each wires-s transceivers, USB connecting device to PC, SCU20 adaptor or base like Yaesu FTM400, Registration to access Yaesu wires-x server – it’s free, EchoLink software – free, Yaesu wires-x software – free to operate Fusion.

Operation:

Connect dummy load to 2 meter base transceiver, when booted to wires-x mode, prevent RF on TX from you base station radiate.

Your TX goes to the internet to other Fusion devices on the internet.

There are more US wires-x operators than the rest of the world combined, total about 4,000 on air at one time.

            The quality is excellent.

Resources:

Yaesu wires-x manual are a must.

            YouTube used with caution.

For emergency communications 2m 70cm is great for local use, Fusion requires the internet, which in an emergency will be “managed.”

Hi Bruce,

My name is Russell Bent (KC1RLM), and I recently received my Technician’s license. I’m interested in joining the Billerica club. Also, I purchases a Yeasu Fusion radio, and I’m looking for an Elmer to help me get on the air. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Russell
