The discussion of contesting during last night's BARS net reminded me of
how nervous I was during my first contest!  (Much respect to those that
'jumped into the deep end' with the ARRL 10M Contest as their first
contest experience!).

*The ARRL sponsors a contest specifically for new hams*, or those who
are new to contesting, the ARRL Rookie Roundup.  There are three
separate events, SSB, RTTY  and CW, run on three separate weekends.  The
events last only 6 hours each so they are much easier to run the
complete contest than the 36 or 48hr marathons of the big ones.
*Technician license holders can participate *on the 10M band allocations
in all three events.

The CW event is coming up next Sunday, the 17th, from 1800-2400 UTC
(1PM-7PM ET).  The SSB and RTTY contests are next April & August
respectively.  More details are available here:
https://www.arrl.org/rookie-roundup

I'm not a CW op myself, but I'm happy to answer questions about this
contest, or contesting in general.  My extensive 18 months of experience
make me an expert (in my own mind)! ;-)

73 & Good Luck!
