And you can get a thorough technical review in the ARRL November 1983 QST Product review written shortly after its introduction in 1983.  

 

All QST’s issues are available via the ARRL Periodicals search at  <http://www.arrl.org> www.arrl.org.  

 

Enjoy.  Most of the Yaesu Radios in that era were excellent.

Any opinions of the Yaesu Ft-77 (other than the obvious "It's old." Like me.) 🤣 Picked one up at an estate hoard sale for $70, working condition. I bought it because it does HF and 10m and has audio out in the front (separate from headphones) suitable for FT-8 and other digital modes.
