[bars] Morse Code

Sometimes what's old is new again...
CW was named continuous wave to differentiate it from the damped wave
transmissions of spark. In spark, the arc causes an oscillation in the
tank circuit and antenna, but the wave decays gradually, giving it a
raspy sound from the sawtooth waveform.
When tubes were used, they could produce true continuous sine waves at
the desired frequency.
Hence 'continuous wave', CW.
Habit and colloquialism meant the term also applied to Morse Code,
though the waves would be just as continuous if it was RTTY, ASCII, or
any other binary code.

p.s. no, I wasn't there back then...
