Not to sound unfeeling about hams around the world, especially in war torn areas….but don’t we have enough hams in our own country who can’t afford equipment? I feel we should take care of our own first.

All:

Just a word of caution here. If we are going to send radio hardware and the like to Ukraine, first make sure it's exportable. The government prohibits export of a lengthy list of hardware and software that it thinks could be used for military purposes and we don't want to run afoul of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). .

Cool. I contacted nick to see if he has someone who can transport the stuff from Warsaw to Ukraine. Let's see how the logistics will work and then we'll start collecting the hardware and donations.

Would love to get some pledges. I am considering sending him supplies and some QRZ-1 handhelds (assuming Gigaparts isn't screwing the pooch again with lack of stock). The contact I have in Warsaw is my nephew-in-law, a righteous Polish family man who already helped me pool my money with others to buy a vehicle for Ukrainian soldiers (an older Mercedes SUV). 110% reliable.

Anybody else receive this? Do you know this ham? I have a contact point in Warsaw where items can be sent for shipment into Ukraine. Maybe we can organize a club shipment?

Good day, dear friend !

There is a war in Ukraine and we need a help. We kindly request you with your all your possibilities to support Ukrainian radio amateurs and their families who are now in a bad situation.

At first, we want to provide help to those who going out from the areas where Is active fighting, and also who are in occupied territories. Also, there’s an aim to support those families who lost their jobs due to war and they’re now in really hard life situations.

Humanitarian help such as food, medicine, clothes etc. there’s a chance to send, then we get your help and then distribute and send this help to the places where now is needed the most.

In addition, to ensure communication, what we need the most it’s radio equipment HF and VHF radio stations (possibly broken - we repair); SWR meters; antenna analyzers; coaxial cables 50 Ohm, insulators, baloons, PL-259, SO-239, BNC, SMA connectors; network equipment, various tools, computer spare parts and components, lightning arresters, power supplies; power banks, solar panels, flashlights, broadcast receivers, mobile phones, and other.

A hard winter is coming, and in addition to the above list, we need gas burnes, heatin pads, electric sheets, fleece items, thermal underwear, lanterns, powerbanks, thermoses and thermal bags.

We are ready to provide detailed photo reports on the use of the received equipment.

Radio amateurs use means of communication, for example, in cities where there is no Internet or telephone. For example, we coordinate aid transport and make emergency radio calls. After the war, we will build club stations with donations. We take an active part in education and work with young people, we offer license courses.
