Thanks for getting on.
SSB can be a real drag for low power/low antenna situations, this is why I did 100% CW. The RBN
Network picks up your call instantaneously and spots you across the world.
Drop me a note if you need help with submitting or anything.

Soapbox :
Wow conditions were pretty punk for the entire event. Watching crazy K
indices and long duration flares all weekend.
Crappy weather all week so I didn't get the yard work done that I
had planned. When Saturday dawned beautiful and bright I knew
I was in for a challenge to balance contesting and the other stuff.
N1MM+ says 8 hours, which is about right. One session right after
I came in from moving some heavy trash barrels of compacted,
wet leaves resulted in the fingers not going to where they are supposed
to on the keyboard. It was typo after typo, fixup after fixup. I am
a good touch typist so I'm like WTF? Eventually the fine motor skills
returned.
About 99% running. All CW. Best hour was 88 Qs. I need to figure out
what I'm not doing right in the multiplier department.
Score attributed to my local Ham club after spending some cycles in
the prior week motivating members to get on the air and make some Qs.
All in all, not a super serious effort but fun none-the-less.

Hey, you kept trying and eventually had some success! I took a few breaks during the day when nothing seemed to be working and then came back and tried a different band, or calling CQ rather than doing S&P. It was def. a tough slog early in the day but when 40 opened up WOOHOO!

Add my name to the list of failures.
I called CQ for an hour Saturday at the start and only got two contacts.
Tried again later at night and the bands were not cooperating.
Same results Sunday morning.
Did finally make some progress last night on 40M.
Hopefully learned many lessons for future contests!!

Yes Tim. Conditions were pretty punk on the high bands today. Hope you managed to have some fun on 40m, though.

Well, I did participate most of the contest hours today but the Sun had other ideas. I heard basically nothing on 10 & 15 SSB and really struggled to get a handful of contacts on 20 & 40. 40 did open up for me late in the day and I finished with around ~110 QSOs in the log. Pretty disappointing overall. I think I had two good runs of 5-10 Qs in a row, that was fun. ;-)
I'll submit my log tomorrow.
Anyone else?

Hi all,
As I discussed in the meeting tonight, the New England QSO Party is this weekend. See https://neqp.org/ for the exact details.
It turns out there is a New England Club Competition category. The plaque is awarded to any New England club with the highest combined score.
The plaque is sponsored by the Yankee Clipper Contest Club, so they are not eligible to receive it. The CTRI club won the plaque last year with only 6 entries and around 250,000 points.
This is a really fun contest (and good practice for Field Day). You can enter SSB only, CW only or Mixed mode. You are the focus of the rest of the world, so if you get on and call CQ you will make lots of contacts!
All you need to remember is to call out the “Billerica Amateur Radio Society” (spell it out) on your entry form.
If any of you need help setting up your favorite contest logging program, send me a direct message and I will do what I can to help you.
Post a note here after the event to let us know you participated.

Ken – WO1N
