I would recommend calling DXEngineering and having a chat with one of their technical advisors. They have heavy duty short tripods designed for roof mounting.

I don’t know if this will work, but for raw materials there is Admiral Metals in Woburn. For fab there is Martell Welding in Tewksbury (Woburn Street near Billerica Lowell). I have bought from Admiral, not used Martell but there was a local ham who worked there that has since moved away.

Subject: [bars] metal fabrication
I'd like to move my VHF antennas off my deck and since a 'real tower' is off the table I'm going with a roof mounted system. What I have in mind is too much for a simple tripod style mount so the next step up is a 'roof tower'. I've seen several glowing reviews for a design from Glen Martin but I'm not able to find those available online anywhere. I did find a similar design by W8IO but he also is no longer offering it for sale. He does, however, provide a detailed construction guide!
I am certainly capable of assembling the thing but I lack the tools to fabricate the parts. Does anyone know of a local metal shop that would be willing to take on such a small project?
73 & Thanks!
