Does anyone by any chance know when the Delorme Tripmate GPS receiver was
first introduced?

I just dug up my old example of this that I had modified years ago with a
push button to feed the GPS output to the input (the GPS sends "ASTRAL"
when not initialized, this makes it do so).

And I found out, much to my surprise, that my at least 27 year old GPS
receiver works, and it feeds position data perfectly to my Yaesu FT-991a.
He. This is almost like digging up a PDP-8e from a pile at the MIT Flea
Market and finding out on the first try that it works! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
