Hello BARS Members,
 
Due to illness, Bill Mader will not be available tonight. Instead, here is the Guest Speaker Announcement for tonight's Club Meeting, which will be via ZOOM ONLY!! The Meeting will start via ZOOM at 7:00 PM EDT tonight! Hopoe to see everyone there!
 
I have lined up a presentation just now for tonight via Zoom. This will be a ZOOM only meeting as the Board had discussed! I have lined up William Shanney, W6QR from Torrence CA and he will be presenting on the topic of:
 
“HF Update: Making The Most Of Your Operating Time”
 
Here is William's Bio:
 
    * First licensed as WV2RDG/WA2RDG in 1961 when I lived in New Jersey
    * Moved to California in 1973
    * Retired Electronics Engineer, RF and microwave circuits and systems for satellites
    * Enjoy antenna design and analysis but live on a small lot so am very limited. I have one 45' mast to support my wires and live on the top of a hill with a nice 10 degree downslope to the East
    * Wire antennas for 160-10M these days
          o 68' Doublet for 40M, east-west radiating at 45'
          o 29' Doublet at 40', NE/SW 30-10M
          o 60' sloping random wire for 80/160M
    * Main radio: IC-7610
    * VHF/UHF weak signal radio: FT-991A
    * 2M SSB/CW with a homebrew 6el Yagi
    * 70cm SSB/CW with a 6el Yagi
    * 6M SSB/CW with a Moxon beam
    * Enjoy portable operating with a FT-710 as well
    * Operate 99% CW on 80-10M, 6M sporadic E (SSB/CW)
    * 100W max power output, sold my amplifier
    * Active with local EMCOMM group, TARA
    * Shack is solar/battery powered for the past 25 years.
    * Other interests are photography, bicycling, hiking and fishing
    * Collect fine paddle keys, lately I'm using Begali Sculpture mono and RA1AOM mono paddles
