If you are using a heat pump do not cycle the thermostat during the day. There is no need to do so.

Just set the temperature once and don’t touch it until the end of heating season or if you are away from the house for an extended period.

Heat pumps only generate a small amount of of heat and are most efficient when set to a constant temperature.

For the last 12 years my house has been entirely heated by two air source heat pumps. There is no fossil fuel in my house.
