We do have members-only content, like the Clipperton presentation which was requested by the presenter to be members-only, so I am attempting to figure out how we can support that. This would require an up-to-date member management database and all members to have a login to view limited content. I'm weighing the value of the overhead on both club leadership/volunteers but also members who would have yet another login to manage. Research shows that requiring a login limits adoption and I'm attempting to drive up usage of our website by members and potential future members. 73, Dave On Fri, Apr 4, 2025 at 11:46?AM Juan Jim?nez wrote: > This is an excellent idea! It is that time of the year where we start pitching for ham radio support for the annual Westford Apple Blossom Parade. This year's parade will be held rain or shine on Saturday, May 17th. The parade starts in Westford Center and ends at the Abbot School. It has been hosted by the Westford Kiwanis (https://westford.org/kiwanis/) and has a long history in town. PART has been providing comm support for many years. Parade starts at 10 AM, we usually muster around 8AM for any last minute updates and to insure adequate coverage. Parade is done usually before noon. Your assignment could finish earlier. All you need is a 2 meter FM handheld that works with the Westford 146.955 WB1GOF repeater. Some assignments are stationary at specific parade route locations, others may be to be a shadow to one of the Kiwanis Parade organizers. We are looking for 12 (minimum) to 16 hams for this event. But, for those of us over 62 years & residents of MA, one can get a "lifetime" parking pass for all MA DCR state parks, such as Great Brook. Real handy. The $10 pass fee covers parking at all the parks. Your lifetime I guess, so everyone's mileage may vary for the ROI. https://www.mass.gov/how-to/get-a-senior-parking-pass JG -- Jon Goldfield, Esq. From: Tom Frenaye Sent: Wednesday, April 16, 2025, 22:10 To: New England Clubs CC: Greetings!   I wonder if you would forward the information below about the upcoming New England QSO Party (May 3+4) to the mailing list for your club and add it to your newsletter or Facebook page.        Many thanks and 73 – Tom/K1KI   The New England QSO Party on May 3rd and 4th is a great time to check out antenna systems and offers a moderately paced opportunity to work new states and countries. You'll find a wide variety of participants, from newcomers to experienced contesters, all interested in making contacts with New England stations. Our goal is to get every one of the counties in New England on the air so we hope you will encourage your members to join in the fun! Even if you can join the fun for a couple of hours, we'd appreciate it!  Will you be QRV? Let us know with a message to info at neqp.org The New England QSO Party is 20 hours long overall, in two sections with a civilized break for sleep on Saturday night.  It runs from 4 pm Saturday until 1 am Sunday, then 9 am Sunday until 8 pm Sunday.  Operate on CW, SSB and/or digital modes on 80-40-20-15-10 meters.  For each QSO you'll give your callsign, a signal report and your county/state.  Top scorers can earn a plaque and everyone who sends in a log with 25 QSOs or more will get a certificate.  The goal is to work stations anywhere in the world - and their goal is to work New England stations, so you'll be very popular! Last year we had logs from 212 New England stations and 516 more logs from around the country and world.  The full rules are here -> https://neqp.org/rules/  The 2024 results were posted last weekend -> https://neqp.org/2024-new-england-qso-party/  It's just under three weeks until the 2024 NEQP. Please make some QSOs even if you don't want to send in a log! It is that time of the year where we start pitching for ham radio support for the annual Westford Apple Blossom Parade. This year’s parade will be held rain or shine on Saturday, May 17th. The parade starts in Westford Center and ends at the Abbot School. It has been hosted by the Westford Kiwanis ( https://westford.org/kiwanis/) and has a long history in town. If memory serves, K2K (NH) was short on operators last year and there was some grumbling among the 13 Colonies award chasers.  You can help solve this problem! I'm happy to answer any questions you might have, or simply reach out to W1UAA directly (email addr. below) for more info. 73!
