I just got notified that the application to renew my license was approved.  Thanks to all the fine BARS members who advised me on the process.
 
If you are going to renew your license and need to make an administrative change (such as a change of address or a change of name) at the same time -- don't.  It's better to do this as two transactions: get the administrative change out of the way first and then apply for the renewal.  You only have to pay the $35 fee for the renewal; there is no charge for the administrative change.
