Greetings BARS MEMBERS!


There will be an Eastern Massachusetts ARES Exercise "CLEAR ICE" which will
run Saturday Morning, February 1, 2025 from 10:00am to 12 Noon.

The reason for this email is to Alert you that the Westford Repeater
(146.955) (PL:  74.4) will be utilized for the Drill on 30 minute intervals
(10:00,10;30,11:00, 11:30 and 12 Noon for reporting incidents and weather
related information preceded with : "THIS IS A DRILL" before passing
information.  Since there are scanners out there we don't want to confuse
or upset the General Public! 😉

I see also the Boston Repeater (145.230) (PL 88.5) will also be utilized.

Give a listen, so that you can see what actually would occur in a REAL
Emergency Situations, due to Winter Storm Conditions, loss of Power and
possible Local solutions, i.e., Warning Centers for General Public.
