In October, cooler heads abound. I just acquired books on POTA, got my rig, 706MkIiG, antenna and LiFePO4 battery.  On web it shows 3 parks in Lowell on map. We shall see what grows.

I looked through the website and they directed hams to contact their local council.  I would think that as a young vigorous ham you could manage that.  It may not be too late. That's Jamboree on the Air and Jamboree on the Internet, a Scouting activity, as in www.scouting.org<http://www.scouting.org>!

How come the club is not participating in this? Sure, POTA, SOTA all of that is ok for the old timers, but could it be that us not participating in a worldwide activity like JOTA/JOTI at least partially explain why we have less than zero youngsters joining the hobby?

It might be too late to join this weekend, but I think we should definitely plan to do this next year.
