Re: ATM robberies, I had a part-time Field Service rep weekend job on-call for BayBanks (remember them?) years ago correcting faults on the Merrimack Valley ATMs from Andover to Newburyport. I assume this crime was a customer robbery, but if someone wanted to clean out the ATM ($60K back in the day) they would have to grab the cash person as he or she was going into the service entrance in the back of the kiosk with the Field Rep already inside. Both persons were required to access cash. The Rep. had the combo lock dial key. One industrious Rep. named Bob looked over the cash person's shoulder to get the combos one Sunday evening. He later went back and cleaned a few ATMS, splitting for Canada in the bank's car. The Canadian police pulled him over after he went through a stop sign. He had a wife and a baby at home.
