You may be surprised what you like and dislike. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">The 991A is an older design but could be good if you want HF VHF UHF all in one package (including Digital C4FM/Fusion). </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Like twenty trillion others I have an IC-7300 and love it. At $999 I think it’s the best value out there. Once you realize what a handy tool a fast response waterfall/spectrum scope is for finding stations, you will never go back to a radio that only displays frequency. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Youtube has reviews of all current transceivers out there. Handy to see what the rig is like before trying one. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">And tube rigs live on. I just bought upgraded filter boards for my AC-4 and am looking forward to putting my old Drake TR-4 back on the air.
