is one of my most memorable experiences in ham radio. It’s somewhat like
camping while we contact as many other hams in a 24-hour period around the
world as we can. We all use the same club call sign so even as a technician,
while on-site you may use the control operator’s Extra privileges on the HF

have heard of field day since Covid shut down a lot of group activities. This
is one of the biggest contests of the year so there will be a lot of activity. I’m reaching out to everyone in the group to see what your level of
interest is in joining us on June 25-26. The contest starts at 2:00 PM EDT on
June 25 and ends at 2:00 PM EDT on June 26.  </span><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"></span></p>

activity involves setting up transceivers and antennas in a remote location to
operate. This year we’ve selected the Billerica Emergency Management station as
it offers some nice luxuries like bathrooms, conference rooms, and an area to
sleep if needed.</span><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"></span></p>

of the main goals is to bring new hams together with more experienced hams to
learn different modes of operation, emergency communication techniques, setting
up antennas and just having fun.</span><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"></span></p>

the contest, multiple stations may operate simultaneously on several bands to
contact as many other hams as possible during the contest. You may operate as
little or as much as you would like to build your skills and to help the group
collect points. There will be many time slots available so we would like to see
what the interest level is so we can decide the number of stations to set up.
We could also use help setting up and taking down antennas if you would like
experience with that as well.</span><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"></span></p>
