<p>FWIW, I agree with Jim. Both the 735 and the 765 have a
reputation for trimmer caps in the PLL going bad and needing
replacement. The PLL is also affected by thermal conditions. IIRC
there are several (four I think) different bands for the PLL, with
one trimmer cap for each band. I did the trimmers in my 765 before
I sold it - not an easy job.<br>

Hello Jason
<div>I agree with Eric. 40 and 20 minute times indicated a large
thermal time constant. Nothing in the 735 has that mass. Power
supply’s do (sometimes ) have thar mass.</div>
<div>A735 needs about 17 amps at full power. What is your power
supply rated for ?</div>

Hello,

<div dir="auto">I have an Icom IC-735. It was given to
me by my grandfathers friend who happened to be the
original owner of the radio. I noticed that after
about 40 minutes of TX/RX 20m goes “dead”. The meter
is 0 and does not move when I TX or just RX. It turns
back on after about 20-40 minutes. There is also no
background static while on RX.</div>
