<div dir="ltr"><div>Like someone else said, enjoy the hobby...or don't - that's your choice. I enjoy going to a flea market with cash. I'm 43yrs old, a bit younger than the average ham demographic, but not the "younger generation". I do use PayPal when I buy from QRZ due to the geographically dispersed nature of those online purchases. The main difference between cash and Venmo is with cash there is no 3rd party who will sell your anonymized transaction data off to the highest bidder for marketing purposes - read the Venmo terms-of-service. "Free" means your data is for sale in today's business world. When I hand someone cash at a flea market and they hand me a radio, I am quite pleased with that transaction.<br></div><div><br></div><div>The WORST thing ever, IMO, is CBDC: <a href="https://www.federalreserve.gov/central-bank-digital-currency.htm">https://www.federalreserve.gov/central-bank-digital-currency.htm</a></div><div><br></div><div>73.<br></div><div>Jason - W1HFP</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sat, Apr 8, 2023 at 11:19 AM Juan Jiménez <<a href="mailto:flybd5@gmail.com">flybd5@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="auto">COVID or no COVID, the definition of value remains the same and only the customer defines it, never the vendor. Vendors who do not adapt to make it easier for the customer to spend money with them are the most likely to have to haul their stuff back home at the end of the day. VenMo costs nothing and charges no fees to either side of the transaction. PayPal is the same in friend payment mode.
