<div dir="ltr">So, for some reason (probably driven by my finishing the code to transmit non-Latin characters in morse code), I was wondering how do hams in Japan and China, for example, transmit in morse code? For Japan I first thought of Romanji, but then realized that any code using it would be easier to break. So I looked a little deeper and ran into Wabun, the code used to transmit Kana characters. Then I looked even deeper and smacked right into the little monster that is the Chinese Telegraph Code of 1872. <div><br></div><div>It was then that I realized I have somehow managed to jump head-first into a very deep rabbit hole. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣<br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><br></div>73,<div>KC1SOZ</div><div>Juan</div></div></div></div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sun, Jun 11, 2023 at 12:12 PM KC1SOZ <<a href="mailto:kc1soz@bd5.com" target="_blank">kc1soz@bd5.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">That's pretty cool. In the course of experimenting, I breadboarded a device that sent a canned morse message, but my major project was for astronomy: it told me the altitude and azimuth to point a camera to take astrophotography of a given object. That used the Pico and a GPS receiver, an LCD display and a little glue logic. I wrote it up for the BARS newsletter a couple of years ago.</p>

This tech is pretty cool stuff. In exactly <b>one</b> day I have my little ESP32 board and optorelay connecting through bluetooth to my computer and sending out picture perfect morse through the CW jack, and all for maybe $25. By doing this, I am also picking up morse code much faster.
