<div dir="ltr">In my experience, yes, you can make FT8 contacts on 2 meters, but they need to be in the local area, and you need to try a contest weekend.<div><div><br></div><div>The best time to try this would be the ARRL VHF contest. The next contest is September 14 to 16. </div></div><div><br></div><div>With my station, I can usually get about 5 to 10 contacts on FT8 2 meters on the ARRL VHF weekends. I am using an ICOM IC-705 which produces about 10 watts. My antenna is a horizontal dipole in the attic.
