That’s what is called QRP, low power operation. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Some might think QRP rigs are nice for beginners because simple ones are cheaper than 100W rigs. But it’s like ultralight fishing. You need to get experience with 10 lb line test fishing before you try ultralight. :)</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">I see the appeal of the 991A covering HF, 6, 2, and 70CM all mode (and I believe Yaesu Fusion C4FM which does have several active repeaters around). And it saves space. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">I use an IC-7300 for HF+6 and an FTM-7250D for 2/70cm FM and Fusion.
