If you are using the stock rubber duck antenna, I would recommend getting a high gain dual band antenna, such as the Comet SMA 24. However, even that might not be enough, as I can hit Westford in Haverhill with an HT but I hit it better with my Smiley antennas half wave 2m antenna, however I still have to put it in the sweet spot. >From Middleton, it might depend on exactly where you are there. An HT to the WB1GOF repeater in Westford is a bit of a reach, even with an aftermarket antenna and a super advantageous position. Mount Wachusett's is not in Middleton 🙂 </div>
