Good contesting practice is for the CQing station is to give your call between QSOs. It helps those who just found you to know who you are. A quick \u201cCQ W1ABC\u201d doesn\u2019t take much longer to say than \u201cQRZ\u201d. It\u2019s poor operating practice to say \u201cQRZ\u201d over and over.
The rules for the CQ sponsored contests say you can be disqualified if you use \u201cQRZ\u201d more than three times.
