<div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">CHIRP works nicely on Linux for programming HTs / small transceivers. You just have to be careful that you have a proper USB-A programming cable. There are very cheap ones that won't work. There is also a compatible equivalent of an EchoLink client called Qtel for making connections to compatible repeaters in the 2m+ range. Actually, I think it would work with any frequency compatible repeater.
