Of course, one of the places I got to see while on board was the radio room. In it, I saw a display of an amateur radio activation during International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (ILLW).<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#1D1C1D;background:#F8F8F8"><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#1D1C1D;background:#F8F8F8">Speaking with my tour guide (and later the man who bought the ship for $1, is refurbishing the ship, and opened it as a museum), I learned that it has been quite a while since it was activated. They expressed great interest in having it activated again. The display had the callsign W1NLS on the board. I looked it up, and it is the "Nantucket Amateur Radio Club" callsign. LotW says no QSO data have been uploaded for this callsign since August of 2019 (August is when ILLW is), so it has been at least six years since it was activated.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#1D1C1D;background:#F8F8F8"><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#1D1C1D;background:#F8F8F8">I'm considering activating it in 2026, but would rather not be the only operator.
