There was limited interest in mobiles but was interest in HTs from the GSARA members, so it may be limited to handhelds only. Curtis, N1CMD, gave the presentation and knew some BARS members may have been interested. Hi is looking to gauge interest on the group buy. I don't have full details yet, I'll know more after I get back to him with how many people may be interested.

THE ASK: IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN GETTING IN ON THE GROUP BUY LET ME KNOW ASAP.

Let me know if you are interested in an HT, a mobile (in the off chance they include those), or both. You will then be included on a followup email for final commitment with more details on what will be in the purchase and expected final price range.

As an FYI, the last time the HTs were Motrorolla XPR 6580s which were in fair used condition (old municipal radios). They came with a charger, handmic, battery, and they were programmed for local New England 900 Mhz repeaters. Neither the handmic or battery had any guarantee on longevity. Both of mine have been fine but I haven't used the HT for long stints so I have no idea the battery life. The cost last time was estimated to be $35-$40 and ended up being $35. New batteries are available online with USB-C charging ports and I know some folks ordered those.

Talk to you on 900 Mhz soon, maybe??

73,
Dave KC1TLF
