Hi Andy,

Congratulations on getting your license. Now the hard part
is what to buy.

Do you commute by car? If so a mobile radio may suit you
better. If you want an HT for around the house you may want
to consider a $25 Baofeng to start off with vs a 2004 designed
HT for $150. Come to the next BARS meeting on the 5th and
you will probably see a few HT's. It all depends what you want
to do and how you want to get on the air. Oh and how much you
want to spend.
