Hi Jason,

Need a bit more info:

*	How do you know audio is getting "to the end of the data cable"
*	What mode are you trying to run?
*	Correct sized plug/jack combo? 2.5mm?
*	What is the audio source? Sound card?
*

Subject: [bars] A quick question going digital

So attempting to get a Yaesu FT817 up and running on digital modes for
experimenting.

My issue is that I'm getting audio to the end of the data cable and the ptt
is being activated but the meter is showing pretty much nothing for audio
output, almost as if the jack is broken, I checked for any bad solder joints
on the board and everything looks decent and not showing any open or high
resistance. I'm a little new and confused I'll admit, my system is running
linux (knoppix) and everything else is working, decodes, rig control etc.
I'd almost wonder if anyone had any suggestions!

Working on my drone practice with the plan to fly a nice high messenger over
the treetops to facilitate pulling a wire up for an end fed

Much Obliged
