My message title may surprise some of you!

 

Yes, BARS is participating in Field Day, although I haven't particularly heard anything from club leadership that actually says
this.  But don't let that dissuade you.

BARS FIELD DAY AT HOME:

-------------------------------------

 

Field Day this year is June 26-27.

 

Start:  1800 UTC Saturday June 26  (2 PM EDT)

End:   24 hours for most stations.  But contest extends until 2100 UTC June 27  (5 PM EDT if you don't start setting up before 2 PM
Saturday.

ARRL COMES THROUGH AGAIN THIS YEAR:

Once again ARRL has made provisions to do "Field Day at Home" with your favorite club.   

 

4.6. (Class D) Home stations: Stations operating from permanent or licensed station locations using commercial power.  Temporary
rule waivers: For Field Day 2021 only, Class D stations may work all other Field Day stations, including other Class D stations, for
points. Class D stations ordinarily may only count contacts made with Class A, B, C, E, and F Field Day stations, but the temporary
rule waiver for 2021 allows Class D stations to count contacts with other Class D stations for QSO credit.

BARS IS A GET ON THE AIR (GOTA) CLUB

This year at home stations on commercial power (class D)  may contact all other Field Day stations including other at home Class D
stations for credit.  This rule recognizes the impact that COVID-19 has had on portable field operations.  So basically everyone
again works everyone.  When you submit results, all you need do is submit your home score along with the designation of the
Billerica Amateur Radio Society for your score to count for BARS.
