Thank you all for the responses to my email.

@Geoff –

I see that Bob Glorioso is giving a talk at the Northeast HamXposition on multi-band end fed antennas. I hope to sit in on that talk as an end fed is one of my contingency plans should my site not work out for a dipole.

Good advice on not mixing design elements. My plan was to purchase a dipole. I had my eye on this one: https://www.hamradio.com/detail.cfm?pid=H0-008288

Thanks for the suggestions re: grounding / lightning protection. I will definitely be needing more detail when I get to that point in the implementation.

Re: coming to look at the site – do you have time sometime in the next couple of weeks?

@Jim & @Mark –

Congrats on your HF setups. I hope to do as well as you both. 😊

@Bammi –

Wow! What a generous offer! I will happily accept and deploy your Windom if I can make it fit my site. It is longer than the Buckmaster I was considering (see above), but I think it should work and work on more bands than the Buckmaster.

I will also need some way to get lines in trees (e.g., your potato launcher). Since I don’t know how to do any of this, does an operator come with the launcher? 😊

At this point, I have a basic plan in mind and I’m looking for someone (multiple someones) who know something about putting antennas in trees to make sure my plan will work as well as details about materials needed and how to get the job done (I really know nothing about how to do this). Once I’ve obtained the necessary materials (rope, antenna, feed line, etc.) some help pulling it off would be appreciated as well.

I know I’m asking a lot. Thanks for your patience, help, advice, and encouragement.

73,

Wayne, KC1ONM
