COVID or no COVID, the definition of value remains the same and only the
customer defines it, never the vendor. Vendors who do not adapt to make it
easier for the customer to spend money with them are the most likely to
have to haul their stuff back home at the end of the day.  VenMo costs
nothing and charges no fees to either side of the transaction. PayPal is
the same in friend payment mode. The younger generation is used to this and
will actively avoid anyone who does not offer the no-cost convenience.

This is how the business world works. Adapt, evolve, or go the way of the
dodo.
