Yes, but there is a very big difference. That mesh on the door is part of a
faraday cage that prevents most of the RF from the oven from exiting. They
are specifically built to keep that from happening, and the ovens only
interfere with your router if they operate on the same frequency and are
placed very close to each other. There are directional and omnidirectional
900mhz and 2.4ghz antennas specifically designed for those routers to
create large hotspots. There is a seller every week at the MIT flea market
who has them, brand new. Cities all over the world also offer free 2.4ghz
wifi, many for free, and if you ever get on an MBTA or other regional train
you will see signals from routers come in and go away all over the route.
