Blackburn Challenge is a blast! You on land or on someone’s boat?
Cover radio w/ a sandwich bag w/ a  hole (taped) for the antenna?  That should keep it dry. 
A weathertight speaker mic or boom mic/earbud can be helpful too if you have one, but it shouldn’t be crazy noisy like Noston Marathon.  
If on land an umbrella or canopy should keep you dry, on a boat not so much. Also, on a boat you may also be monitoring/using marine VHF too if equipped. 
Might not rain at all though… think positive!
